Templates In word processing and desktop publishing, a template (or style sheet) is a file or form that defines the layout of a document. When you fill in a style sheet, you specify such things as the page size, margins, and fonts. Templates are useful because you can use the same template for many documents. For example, you could define one template for personal letters, another for official letters, and a third for reports. Templates save time, ensure that the organisation uses the same layout for all documents - presenting a professional image. Using a template can be more accurate than starting from scratch each time.
