House style

You need to decide what your completed web site will look like. This decision will not only include the structure and use of images, but will also cover other questions about the style of the web pages. Some of the issues which have a bearing on the style of a web site include:

·     what type, size and colour of font to use for any text on the web page

·     whether and how to use justification for any text

·     the style of bullets or numbers on the web page

·     where the logo or business name will appear on the web page and whether this is on every web page in your web site?

When planning, it is always best to set up and use a table before you start. This means that you are more likely to answer all of the necessary questions. Each of the bullets above has a set of questions which you need to answer. Below are examples of tables you could use for deciding on how text and also images will be used on your website.

Tip

You could use similar tables to collect details about how any text and images will be used on your website. Create a table like this in a word processing package for each aspect of design.  Once completed, these tables will then be evidence of how you have designed your website.
