Task 1: Design a multimedia website
Assessment Objective 1
You need to produce a design for a multimedia website of at least five pages for Recycle GB. Your design must meet the specification given in the scenario. The design will act as the blueprint (plan) for the website you are going to produce for them.
The designs you produce will be implemented in tasks 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Use the activities below to produce evidence for your assignment.
1.A Identify the purpose
and
target audience
of the website. -

(This will take the form of a word-processed document)
1.B Read the entire assignment and then produce a
site plan
for the website.
PowerPoint presentation The website must consist of at least five web pages. Your site
plan should:
be on one page
show an overview for all pages
show an overview of the navigation system.
(This could be drawn by hand or by using word-processing, DTP or specialist software)
1.C Produce a house style
for the website:
colour scheme
position of components (text, images, multimedia objects, other components, etc)
position of navigation system (showing links)
To achieve the higher grades, the house style must be detailed, clearly showing more than one way to link the pages.
(This could be done graphically by hand, using word-processing or DTP software or using graphics software to simulate what it will look like)
1.D Produce page plans
for each of the pages:
layout of different components
description of the chosen navigation system (buttons, textual hyperlinks, hotspots, etc)
To achieve the higher grades, the page plans must be accurate and sufficiently detailed to allow another person to implement the plans.
(This could be done graphically using word-processing or DTP software, by hand or using graphics software to simulate what it will look like)
1.E You should now collect and store suitable components, including any created yourself eg:
images
text
animations
interactive elements
video
sound.
