Task 2: Create multimedia webpages
Assessment Objective 2
Using the designs and components that you have collected and stored, you should now create the multimedia web pages using appropriate web-authoring software.
Use the activities below to produce evidence for your assignment.
2.A Create a suitable directory/folder structure
for the
website:
To achieve the higher grades, a suitable directory/folder structure must be shown with appropriate directory/folder and filenames.
(This must be done using screenshots)
2.B Produce the pages you have designed using your house style. You must:
create your
template
and/or a
cascading style sheet
create your navigation system
insert/import and align text
set text attributes
use a range of different components that you have collected
use
tables
(if appropriate).
At Pass level, a simple
template
should be used. A minimum of
five different images must be included.
To achieve the higher grades,
appropriate
styles
will need to be used. Errors will be minimal and tables will
be used.
At Merit level, a template and/or cascading style sheet(s) can be used and some use must be made of tables.
At Distinction level cascading style sheets must be used, along with the use of tables throughout. All images must be suitable and a method of navigation must be present.
(Evidence for Part B of this task will be produced later, when Assessment Objectives 3, 4 and 5 have been addressed in task 6)
2.C Show that you have optimised
components for use on the
internet:
file size
download times.
At Pass level, there is no requirement to complete Part C. To achieve the higher grades, images will be optimised and will be of good quality and scaled in proportion.
(This must be evidenced through the use of screenshots)
2.D Show that you have kept backups
of the entire website on
a suitable backup device.
At Pass level, evidence of backups is not required. To achieve the higher grades, backup procedures must be evidenced.
(This must be evidenced through the use of screenshots)
