1.      Images and target audience

Before anyone creates a website they should first think about the people who are going to look at it – the ‘Audience’.

A lot of websites are deliberately made to advertise company’s products such as cars or computers.

To ensure that the sites are effective, the companies put things on the site that they think that their customers will like. So a site for a sweets company will have lots of colours and pictures of pop stars and games or competitions. This is because the company thinks that this will attract a lot of young people to the site and they will buy the company’ sweets. This is known as ‘Targeting’.

So the company aims their website at their ‘Target Audience’.
