Carmel Parry was born in February 1987, her sister Heather in October 1988. From an early age the sisters began to play keyboard and brass instruments and sing both solo and in choirs. Their talents were not confined to music - both became accomplished gymnasts and swimmers.
Early in 2003 Carmel and Heather (then aged 16 and 15) began songwriting as an extension of their enthusiasm for writing poetry and playing music. Their first "proper" song, "Happy again" was well-received by family and friends, and in February 2003 they made their first visit to "Shipwreck Studios" in Glossop to record the track. During 2003 they continued to write further songs, influenced by their love of bands and singers like The Corrs, Kate Rusby, Dido and Sarah McLachlan.
