Attachments are files that are sent along with an email message; they "piggyback" along for the ride. Attachments can be any kind of file (ie. pictures, documents, zip files, etc.). Note that attachments are never part of the message body!

It is easy to send a file attached to an email.  The file can be a document, sound clip etc.

Create your email first - then follow the following guide:

Let's assume you are composing a message and want to include an image attachment called bluescratch.jpg:

  1. Click Attach from the New Message window toolbar to open the Insert Attachment dialog box (see below).

  1. Let's attach the image bluescratch.jpg for our example. Click the file once to highlight it, then click Attach.
  1. Our attached file can now be seen in the New Message window (see below).

  1. When ready click Send.

Tip: You can add more than one attachment to one email message. If you want to remove an attachment from a message just right-click on the file and choose Remove from the pop-up menu.

NOTE:  Some email programs will not allow you to send large attachments.  Also if you use web based email such as Hotmail you will probably have a file size limit on what you can receive.
