There are many benefits to a user of using a network rather than a stand-alone computer. You must know about the benefits of using networks including:

shared access to centrally held data
centralised control of data, software and hardware · shared software and hardware.

However, there are also disadvantages to using a network. You must know about the disadvantages of using networks, including:

slowing down of response times causing an increased need for memory

access limitations caused by sharing resources (printer, server, data communications)

problems caused when trying to print to remote printers · risk of tampering by hackers.
