PRE-RELEASE TASKS – INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES Read these instructions carefully and then carry out the tasks. You should look at the assessment evidence grid for this unit to see what you are expected to be able to do for each grade. You will need the work you produce when you take the examination for this unit. When you have completed both tasks you must put your name, candidate number and Centre number on each page. Your teacher will collect in your work and return it to you at the start of the examination. Your teacher must complete one Centre Authentication Form per class to confirm that the work is the candidates’ own work .Task 1 Choosing the context and content of the document, you must produce a four-page Desktop Publishing (DTP) document to meet one of these briefs:

Use the checklists below to make sure that you have completed everything required for Task 1. You may use more tools and facilities than those given in the checklists. Your final graphics or draft versions should show the use of the following:

Your printouts must not have any labels or further word processed or hand written information other than the page numbers and titles given in the ‘Preparing for the examination’ section. If you label your printouts before the examination marks will not be awarded. Task 2 You must complete a record of good working practice. An example is provided for you on the next page.
